Police in Aberdeen are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Aberdeen on Friday.

A 20-year-old man was walking along Jute Street near Froghall Terrace when he was approached by another man who tried to steal his belongings.

The suspect is described as white, aged 30-50 years of age, 5’8” tall, of slim build with medium length dark brown hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dirty, faded blue jeans.

The suspect also had a very distinctive tattoo on his neck which was of a tribal design which started below his collar with two points which came from the right hand side of his neck and ended on the front of his neck at his ‘Adam’s apple’.

Detective Constable John Murdoch, who is investigating the incident said: “The area in and around Jute Street would have been busy at that time of the morning with people travelling to work, schools and universities, and so I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who can identify the suspect to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.
