Officers in Inverurie are appealing for information following a number of vandalisms that have occurred at Inverurie Academy during the course of the summer holidays.

The incidents have involved school windows being smashed, slates being removed from the roof and broken, a car parked within the school grounds also had a window smashed. In the most recent incident which occurred over the weekend of 13 - 15 August 2016, a classroom was entered and items strewn about whilst a fire extinguisher was also let off.

PC Claire Williamson who is investigating the most recent incident stated: "Such activity not only disrupts the working of the school as classrooms need to be cleaned and windows replaced, but furthermore it is an added expense on council budgets which invariably means that services elsewhere suffer.

"I would urge anyone with information about these mindless acts to contact us with information."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or the charity Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111.
