Police in Aberdeen launch appeal following spate of vehicle thefts and fires

Police in Aberdeen have launched an appeal for information following a series of vehicle thefts, attempted thefts and vehicle fires.

The incidents - eight in total - took place at a number of locations, including Sandilands Drive, Springhill Road and Holburn Road, between Thursday 10th August and Friday 11th August.

One of the stolen vehicles – a Ford Transit van – was later found set alight in the Coast Road area. A stolen motorbike was later recovered safely.

Police are also investigating the fireraising of a silver Audi car at Tullos Primary School, which they believed to be connected.

Detective Sergeant Chris Wilson said: “Our enquiries have established that a group of four or five individuals, dressed in dark clothing and balaclavas, were seen in the area of these incidents, and it is believed the stolen Ford Transit had been used to commit further thefts.

“An extensive investigation is ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have seen a Ford Transit and a silver Audi traveling in convey between 10 and 11 August, 2023, as it may assist our enquiries.”
