One person's been rescued from their car after flooding in Inverurie this morning.

A spokesman for the service said: “At 6.02am on Tuesday, August 15, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to reports of flooding on the B993, Inverurie.

“A total of four appliances and a water rescue team were immediately mobilised to the scene.

“Specialist crews used an inflatable sled to rescue one casualty from their car which had become surrounded by the water.

“There were no injuries reported and crews remain at the scene as they work to make the area safe.”

The heavy rain also led to Keith Hall Road being closed, and the Fire Service had boats in the town as a precaution, but no properties were damaged
