Pensioner charged after boy injured in collision

An elderly man has been charged with alleged careless driving after a nine-year-old boy was knocked off his bike on a busy road in Aberdeen.
The collision involving a grey Volkswagen Passat happened near the Sainsbury's on Garthdee Road at about 2.35pm on Sunday.
The boy was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries, which were not believed to be serious.
Police said a 73-year-old man has been charged in relation to alleged careless driving.
