A male pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry on the A90 at Marykirk.
Police were called to the busy North East road at around 5.05am on Thursday following reports of a crash between a lorry and a pedestrian.
The man has been taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment and investigation work is ongoing.
The southbound carriageway is closed to traffic while officers carry out enquires.
Diversion are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area during this time.
