Pedestrian dies in Keith in early morning crash
Police probing scene with A96 closed
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in the early hours of the morning.
The crash, involving a Mini Cooper, happened on the A96 between Keith and Huntly in the north east at around 2.30am on Monday.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the road was closed while investigations were carried out and diversions were put in place.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: Around 2.30am on Monday, 17 August, Road Policing officers were called to the A96 between Keith and Huntly, following a crash involving a Mini Cooper and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the road remains closed as the investigation into the circumstances continues.
Local diversions are in place.''
