Cove Rangers were just 8 minutes away from taking Hibs to penalties in their Scottish Cup 4th round tie in Edinburgh.

The League 1 leaders pushed their top flight hosts all the way before conceding the only goal of the game in extra time.

Cove, minus Shay Logan and Iain Vigurs through injury, were well organised and composed throughout and created a number of chances - with the Hibs fans jeering their own team as frustration grew among home supporters.

In the end, it was not to be, but there's plenty to look forward to for Paul Hartley's men over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile Hibs boss Shaun Maloney, reflecting on his team's display, said: "The performance can definitely be better at times. I thought we got better as the game went on and we created more chances.

"But my experience in these competitions tells me I have to be very happy to be in the next round."
