A 27-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man have been charged following the recovery of cannabis with a 'street' value of around ÂŁ7,500 in Huntly.

Officers from the area’s Community Policing Team searched a property yesterday afternoon Thursday 12th October, where the Class B drug was discovered.

The pair, who are local to the area, were arrested and charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

PC Kelsey Stewart of Huntly Police Office, who led the enquiry, said: "Drugs will not be tolerated in our community and I can provide every assurance that any intelligence we receive in relation to illegal substances will be acted upon.

"I would like to thank the members of the public who have provided information to us so far and would encourage anyone else with concerns about drugs in their community to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

"By working together, we can ensure the area remains a safe place to live."
