One taken to hospital after 'deliberate' fire at Aberdeen tower block

Six people were treated at the scene by paramedics and one patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

An Aberdeen tower block fire that left one person in hospital is being treated as deliberate.

A large emergency response was sent to Aulton Court in Seaton Crescent at 8pm on Monday 20 January.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said they were alerted after reports of a fire alarm being activated in the 19-storey building.

Five fire appliances, seven ambulances and two special operations response teams (SORT) were dispatched to the area and the flames were put out in around two hours.

Six people were treated and released by paramedics at the scene, with one transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Police say the fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.05pm on Monday, 20 January 2025 police received a report of a fire within a block of flats at Aulton Court, Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.

“Emergency services attended, and the fire was extinguished.

“One person was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. “

“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
