Woman in 'critical but stable' condition after A96 crash near Kintore

A woman is in a 'critical but stable' condition following a single-vehicle crash on the A96 near Kintore.

The 34-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aberdeen Royal infirmary.

Emergency services were alerted to the collision shortly before 1am near Broomhill Roundabout.

One ambulance and two special operations response teams were dispatched to the scene and one patient was taken to hospital.

Police confirmed the driver of the vehicle was not at the scene when officers arrived but has since been traced and taken to hospital after being checked over by paramedics.

Road closed for 12 hours

The road was closed for around twelve hours before partially reopening in the afternoon - it has since fully reopened.

A Scottish Ambulance Spokesperson said: “We received a call at 00:53 to attend a 1 car RTC on the A96 near Kintore.

"One ambulance and two special operations response teams (SORT) were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
