Oil and gas job seekers gather in Aberdeen for latest recruitment drive

Oil and gas job seekers are meeting at the AECC today to try and find new careers.

More than 500 people are expected to attend over the course of the day.

Representatives from a wide variety of firms, including the British Army, OPITO, Police Scotland, Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council.

Our reporter Phil McDonald went to meet some of those who are looking for new jobs.

Calum McLean from Skills Development Scotland said: "People are still coming to us and I think people are willing to look at new careers and consider new options for themselves.

"We've had people that have come in and make quite interesting new career transitions."
