A bus carrying football fans has been vandalised in Aberdeen.

An object was thrown at the coach, which was driving westbound on Hutcheon Street just before 10pm last night.

It was leaving Pittodrie where the Aberdeen v Rangers match had just finished.

Police are looking for a group of three males, described as ‘youths’, who were seen in the area at the time.

They were last seen heading in the Gallowgate direction and one was wearing a white jacket.

Local Area Commander Chief Inspector Martin Mackay said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace a group of three males, described as ‘youths’, who were seen in the area at the time.

"They were last seen heading in the Gallowgate direction and one was wearing a white jacket.

"What is more concerning is the fact the coach was moving at the time - such a reckless act put everyone on the bus in danger aswell as pedestrians, and it goes without saying that the outcome could have been much worse.

“Given the general good behaviour of the crowd last night, this incident is particularly disappointing.

“However I would like to thank the overwhelming majority of fans who supported our officers and club stewards in helping get everyone get in and out of the stadium, and city, safely.”
