The Northsound Cash for Kids Coat Appeal is back for 2022
More than 2,700 children were supported last year
Last updated 2nd Sep 2022
Northsound Cash for Kids Coat Appeal 2022 is back with more families in the region expected to be thrust into fuel poverty.
In 2014, 445 children were supported.
Last year, that number rose to 2,726.
The energy price cap is rising in October, and is expected to go up again in January, forcing many families to choose between heating and eating this winter.
The Coat Appeal offers £50 Primark vouchers to families that are disadvantaged, disabled living in poverty.
It allows parents to buy their kids warm, winter clothes and ease the financial burden on them.
That number is expected to surpass 3,000 this year, meaning more than £150,000 will need to be raised to support families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Donations can be made here.
Applications for a voucher can be made my a professional working with the family, for example a health visitor, doctor, teacher or social worker here.
