More than a dozen flood warnings are in place across Angus and Tayside, as the North East faces 3 days of further downpours.

A Met Office yellow warning is in place until 6pm tonight, with further alerts issued until Monday night, covering Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee, and Perth & Kinross.

Rob Murray from the Red Cross says the area is still recovering from floods after Storm Babet last week:

"The British Red Cross have their thoughts firmly with the families of those who sadly lost their lives during Storm Babet. Indeed, for everyone that had their homes damaged, or their businesses damaged.

"The Red Cross in Scotland have been working with other voluntary sector partners to protect people. We've set up welfare checks in parts of Aberdeenshire, making sure vulnerable people were ok. We held rest centres in parts of Brechin and Perth and Kinross. We supported people with things like blankets, a warm cup of tea and coffee and some clothes. A lot of people had come to the rest centres and they had the wet clothes they'd been wearing for several hours. Our teams were able to provide dry clothes so that they could try and get some rest.

Mr Murray says it's important people follow the advice over this weekend:

"It is really important people follow the Met Office guidance, particularly in the areas that were affected last weekend by Storm Babet. If the police or the council ask you to evacuate your home and go to a rest centre, please do that and take with you some overnight clothes, a battery pack and some water and food. It's so important people follow the local advice."

"We wouldn't be surprised if there's significant disruption again to travel and the local community this weekend. We'd encourage people to prepare that emergency grab bag and to prepare their home. If there are sandbags available, make sure they're protecting your property."

SEPA has issued more than a dozen flood warnings for areas in Tayside and Angus.

Scotrail say they won't be running direct services between the Central Belt and Aberdeen and Inverness.
