A play park in Aberdeenshire has been vandalised with graffiti of both anti-semitic and racist natures.

The Port Elphinstone park also had white painted poured down a children's slide.

Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin described it as 'disgraceful'.

She said:

"I'm absolutely disgusted"

"Graffiti is bad enough on it's own, it's disgraceful, but my goodness - that kind of graffiti in the place we live - is absolutely intolerable."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

"We have received reports of vandalism to a playpark in the Elphinstone Road area of Port Elphinstone, which is believed to have taken place between Wednesday, 10 March and Thursday, 11 March. Enquiries into the matter are ongoing."
