Former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed she is separating from her husband Peter Murrell after nearly 15 years of marriage.
They married in 2010 and in the last few minutes, she has shared a statement on her Instagram story confirming they have decided to go split.
She posted: "With a heavy heart I am confirming that Peter and I have decided to end our marriage.
"To all intents and purposes we have been separated for some time now and feel it is time to bring others up to speed with where we are."
The pair first became a couple in 2003 before marrying seven years later at Oran Mor in the West End of Glasgow.
Mr Murrell was the chief exec of of the SNP before being charged with embezzling funds from the party last year.
Ms Sturgeon and ex party treasurer Colin Beattie have also been arrested and charged as part of Police Scotland's Operation Branchform.
The statement went on to read: "It goes without saying that we still care deeply for each other, and always will.
"We will be making no further comment."
