NHS Grampian Chief Executive to retire
NHS Grampian's chief executive is retiring.
Malcolm Wright will be stepping down in August.
He joined the health board as Interim Chief Executive in December 2014 and was appointed as Chief Executive in July 2015.
Mr Wright said: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to be Chief Executive of NHS Grampian for the last four years.
"I am very proud of all the staff of NHS Grampian and I wish them all well for the future. I have been very grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Chief Executive of NHS Grampian and I will miss my friends and colleagues.
"NHS Grampian has my personal best wishes”.
Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport Shona Robison said: “Malcolm Wright has been an excellent servant of the North East and he will be missed by his colleagues and staff at NHS Grampian.
"I thank Malcolm for all the hard work he has put in throughout the years at NHS Grampian.
“Malcolm is a very experienced NHS Chief Executive and, to maintain stability at NHS Tayside, he has agreed to remain as Tayside’s Chief Executive until the end of the year to allow the recruitment process for a permanent Chief Executive to proceed."
Mrs Robison added that the interim post at Tayside has not played a part in Mr Wright's decision to retire from Grampian.
