New ARI car park opens for the first time

We're expecting it to be officially opened next month

The new multi-storey car park at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is open today.

It was built thanks to a £10million donation from the Sir Ian Wood Foundation.

He told Northsound News last year he'd had an amazing response after announcing the funding.

Sir Ian said: "It's obviously something people really want, there's all kinds of hardship stories of people leaving their homes two hours early, driving around for an hour trying to find a car parking space, which is miserable.

"These are people who are visiting sick relatives or are themselves going in for treatment."

The car park is free - but it's for patients and visitors, not NHS staff.

We're expecting an official opening ceremony next month
