New ARI car park closed for weekend

It's to allow more work to take place on the £10million structure

Just days after opening for the first time, the new car park at ARI is closing for the weekend.

It's so that work can be done on features like the lifts and lighting inside.

There will be other closures to follow in the coming weeks - NHS Grampian has promised to keep people up to date when the situation changes.

An NHS Grampian spokesperson said: "We would like to advise that the multi-storey car park is currently closed from today and over the weekend while we perform work on the lifts, lighting and other areas.

"During this period, we will revert to the previous car parking arrangements for staff, patients and visitors that were in place during the construction of the multi-storey car park.

"As many people are aware, we performed a limited or ‘soft’ opening in advance of the official opening next month/later in the year. This allows us to test logistical and technical aspects of the building and perform final maintenance work while still providing much needed additional car parking.

"We aim to keep these closure periods to a minimum however, we expect there will be periods where the car park is not open to users over the next few weeks. We will communicate these to people in advance where possible and staff will also keep users updated both at the car park entrance barriers and via NHS Grampian social media channels.

"We will issue an update once the car park reopens and would like to thank people for their patience and cooperation."
