Finance Secretary Kate Forbes, and UK Government Minister Michael Gove have been visiting a new £40 Million project in Aberdeen today.

BioHub is intended to bring the growing life sciences businesses in the region together. Offering places in the building for up to 40 individual businesses to work collaboratively.

Many of the types of companies that will move in, of which 27 have already agreed, will be working on medical treatments, therapies and cures for various conditions.

For example some of the firms are looking at Alzheimers disease and Cystic Fibrosis.

BioHub has secured £20 million of capital funding from the UK Government and Scottish Government via the Aberdeen City Region Deal, and Sir Ian Wood's Opportunity North East are leading the project.
