Mum's safety concerns over toddler falls from window
An Aberdeen mother says she's worrried about the safety of other kids, after a 2-year-old boy fell four storeys from an open window
An Aberdeen mother has told Northsound News she's worrried about the safety of other kids, after a 2-year-old boy fell four storeys from an open window.
Danielle Keith lives in the same flats on Balnagask Circle where the accident happened on Monday.
The toddler is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
Danielle says her 5-year-old son is able to easily open his bedroom window fully.
Another parent - who didn't want to be named - has told Northsound concerns have been raised in the past, but they've been told the windows cannot have safety locks on them, because firefighters might need to get in from outside in an emergency.
An Aberdeen City Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of an incident at one of our properties and are currently liaising closely with Police Scotland as they carry out their investigation. We are not in a position to comment further on this specific incident until that investigation has been concluded and the circumstances have been established.
“The health, safety and wellbeing of all of our tenants is a priority. We take all concerns seriously and will respond in due course to those expressed by residents.”
