MSP Gillian Martin has encouraged her Holyrood colleagues to follow her lead in picking up some rubbish while out for a walk on the beach or countryside, and to tweet a video suggesting their constituents do the same.

Martin says she does it herself while walking her two dogs, and believes it can go a long way to helping preserve Scottish scenery and wildlife.

Speaking to Northsound, Martin said:

"They haven't taken the hint from the video, so I'm going to have to be maybe a bit more blatant about it"

"I think now I actually have to lay the gauntlet down to the rest of the MSP fraternity and say 'go and do a little take 5 video yourself and lets see how many people we can get doing this nationally.' "
