Motorist dies in Aberdeen city centre crash

A driver has died following a crash in Aberdeen city centre in the early hours of this morning.

It happened on Wapping Street at the junction with Denburn Road at around 12:50am

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for more than 10 while investigations were carried out, but has now reopened.

“Around 12.50am on Saturday 31 December 2022, officers attended a report of a one vehicle crash involving a red Ford Fiesta on Wapping Street, Aberdeen at its junction with Denburn Road.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and anyone who witnessed the collision or has CCTV footage of the incident is asked to contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 0158 of 31 December, 2022.”
