Missing Aberdeenshire cliff climber is local teacher
Owain Bristow is Head of Biology at Robert Gordon's College - he went missing on Friday afternoon after being believed to have fallen into water near Bullers of Buchan
A man who was reported missing on Friday after being believed to have fallen from sea cliffs in the North East is a teacher at Robert Gordon's College.
Owain Bristow is the Head of Biology at the school in Aberdeen.
Emergency services had received reports of a man falling into the water.
Police and the coastguard have been searching with the aid of a drone and helicopter as well as combing the coastline.
A spokesperson for Robert Gordon’s College said: “The Robert Gordon’s community is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic climbing accident near Bullers of Buchan, Peterhead involving Mr Owain Bristow, Head of Biology on Friday evening. During his time at RGC Mr Bristow inspired many of our pupils, staff and former pupils. The College is coming to terms with this devastating news and he will be greatly missed by us all.”
