Met Office issues high wind warning for North and East of Scotland

Winds of up to 80mph are expected

The North and East of Scotland is being told to brace for high winds, as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning.

The alert is in force from 8PM tonight until 5PM tomorrow, with forecasters warning of "Very strong winds likely to result in some travel disruption and dangerous coastal conditions across northern and eastern Scotland."

It is expected winds could reach 70mph, with gusts of 80.

Forecasters stress there could be disruption to roads and rail, particularly around the coast.
