Aberdeen pooch Bertie is flying the flag for the North-east

Published 9th May 2016

Aberdeen pooch Bertie is flying the flag for the North-east after making it to the final of a competition looking for an "ambassadog" for Scotland.

Officially named Granddach Beinn Allign (after the Torridon Munro), but better known as Bertie, this fox terrier has travelled extensively all over Scotland with his owner Gail, from dog-friendly cafés in Aberdeen to Glen Tanar and Morven on Deeside.

Bertie even has his very own blog, detailing his canine adventures!

Bertie was shortlisted along with 8 other dogs from around the country in a competition organised by VisitScotland who were looking for mutts who "convey the spirit of Scotland".

You can see all the nominees who made the shortlist to become Scotland's "ambassadog" and find out more here.
