Man Threatened With Weapon And Robbed In Aberdeen

Police are searching for a man who robbed another man of cash yesterday.

It happened near to the Bank of Scotland in the Ellon Road of the city, at around 8:15pm.

A 47-year-old man was targeted by another man, who approached him from behind and presented a weapon before leaving in the direction of Scotstown Road.

He was uninjured but has been left shaken by the incident.

A Vauxhall Vectra was seen in the area prior to the incident and police are keen to speak to the driver of that vehicle who may be able to assist with enquiries.

The suspect is described as 5ft 6ins to 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, and is aged between 35-40. He has thick dark eyebrows, short dark hair, a round face and was wearing light coloured jogging bottoms and a dark fleece jumper.

Bridge of Don Community Policing Team Inspector Chris Kerr said: "This was a distressing incident for the person involved and we are appealing for anyone who may have information or who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact police.

"Bridge of Don is a safe place to live and incidents like this are extremely rare. We will be carrying out increased patrols in the area but we also rely on members of the public to report anything unusual or that concerns them to us.
