A man is to stand trial after an allegedly fatal attack near an Aberdeen museum.
A man is to stand trial after an allegedly fatal attack near an Aberdeen museum. Francis McPhee is charged with the culpable homicide of 44 year-old Scott Ashton on May 18 last year. The incident is said to have occurred in Aberdeen's Shiprow area close to the city's Maritime Museum. 25 year old McPhee is accused of punching Mr Ashton causing him to fall and strike his head. It is said Mr Ashton was so severely injured, he died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on May 21. McPhee today/yesterday denied the allegation during a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. His legal team lodged a special defence of self defence in connection with the accusation. Judge Lady Rae set a trial due to begin in June in Aberdeen.
