Man sustains 'serious injuries' after being struck by a car

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Peterhead this morning.

Road Policing officers in Aberdeenshire are appealing for information following a collision between a car and a pedestrian on South Road, Peterhead, this morning.

The incident happened just after 1am on Monday, 22 March, at the junction with the Lido car park and involved a red Ford Fiesta.

The 30-year-old male pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Fiesta was not injured.

The road was closed while officers carried out collision investigation work.

Sergeant Chris Smith, from Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch. We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the car involved prior to the incident itself, or earlier in the evening.

“If you believe you have any information, or possible dash-cam footage from the area at the time, please call Police on 101, quoting incident 0183 of Monday, 22 March, 2021.”
