Martin Longmuir is set to take on a massive challenge this summer as he raises funds for Friends of Anchor.

He's celebrating turning 40 by taking on ten days of running, totaling 391.4km, which will include multiple munros.

In total that will be over 15,164 metres climbed - or early 20 Burj Khalifa’s – the worlds tallest building - stacked on top of one another.

This will include the two summits of An Teallach - meaning Martin completes his last two munros while he is at it.

He said:

"I’ve done other challenges. I’ve previously completed a coast to coast run/walk, but I wanted something tougher. I’ve been putting off An Teallach for 15 years, for no real reason, so I thought I would combine the two.

"I want to challenge myself mentally and physically while raising money for an incredible cause, close to my heart."

Martin has already surpassed his £2,000 fundraising target for Friends of Anchor - a cause he chose because after watching friends and family experience cancer.

He said:

"Friends of Anchor is a cause close to my heart. In school, a classmate lost their battle against Leukaemia at 17, later in my life my aunty Wilma lost a long battle and most recently my mum battled breast cancer which thanks to help and support she won!"

He added: "Cancer doesn’t care who you are or how you live your life."
