Man Jailed For Four Years After Aberdeen Rape
A man who continued to have sex with a woman in Aberdeen, after she asked him to stop has been jailed for four years.
Arturs Kozlovskis, 31, shook his head in disbelief as judge Lord Bannatyne jailed him at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Passing sentence, Lord Bannatyne said: "Rape by its very nature is a very serious offence. The only possible sentence is a lengthy one of imprisonment.
"You will go to prison for a period of four years."
The pervert had been convicted of the March 2014 attack at an earlier high court hearing. Sentence had been deferred so the court could obtain reports about the first offender's background.
On the earlier occasion, the court heard how Kozlovskis attacked his victim at an address in the city on March 1 2014.
The court heard how the sex was initially consensual but the woman asked him to stop. Kozlovskis continued to have sex for a "short time" after she made her request.
The female, who cannot be named for legal reasons, complained to police and Kozlovskis was arrested shortly afterwards.
On Thursday, defence advocate Bill Adam told the court that his client still maintained that he hadn't done anything wrong.
Mr Adam said Kozlovskis believed the sex had been consensual.
Mr Adam added: "He has been suffering with depression."
Lord Bannatyne also placed the Latvian national on the Sex Offenders Registers for life.
