Man Held Following 'Disturbance' In Peterhead

Police have confirmed that a 43-year-old man has been taken into custody following a 'disturbance' in the Meethill Place area of Peterhead earlier.

Armed police attended an address in the Aberdeenshire town on Sunday morning along with local policing units.

The road was closed while police were involved in negotiations.

A police spokesman said: "Following a policing operation in the Meethill Place area of Peterhead earlier today, a 43 year old man has been taken into police custody."

Police Scotland also said that no-one was injured in the incident and that there had been no threat to the wider public.
