Man dies after being hit with lorry near Elgin Golf Course

The 42-year-old pedestrian was hit around 10am yesterday and died at the scene

A 42-year-old man has died after being hit with a lorry in Elgin yesterday morning.

It happened just outside the golf course around 10am, emergency services attended but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

“Officers received report of a crash involving a HGV and a pedestrian on an unclassified road, known locally as Birnie Road, in Elgin which was reported around 10am on Tuesday, 26 April, 2022.

“Emergency services attended and a 42-year-old man, the pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The road adjacent to the golf course was closed for more than nine hours while enquiries into the crash were carried out.”
