46-year-old man dies in A92 crash

A 46-year-old man has died following a crash on the A92 near St Cyrus in Aberdeenshire.

It happened around 1.35pm today and involved one vehicle.

The road remains closed tonight while police continue investigations.

Sergeant Eoin Maxwell, North East Road Policing Unit, said:

"Around 1.35pm on Thursday, 14 July, police were called to a single vehicle road crash on the A92 near to North Esk Bridge, near St Cyrus, Aberdeenshire.

"Emergency services attended however, the 46-year-old male driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and we are supporting them at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries are ongoing in to the circumstances surrounding the crash.

"The A92 between North Esk Bridge and St Cyrus will remain closed until further notice. Local diversions are in place."
