Man dies in Grampian Transport Museum crash

Emergency services were called to the site in Alford shortly before 11.00am

A man has died following an accident at Grampian Transport Museum, Alford, this morning (Wednesday August 23, 2017).

Emergency services were called to the site at Montgarrie Road shortly before 11am.

Officers along with the Scottish Ambulance Service Helimed and the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service attended, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: "Enquiries in conjunction with our partners are ongoing as we try to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

"The man's next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time."

Police will remain at the scene into this evening while further enquiries are carried out.
