Man dies after falling from North Sea platform

A man's died after falling from a North Sea platform.

The alarm was raised yesterday in the Culzean Field off the coast of Aberdeen - his body was found by the coastguard several hours later.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said:

“Emergency services were contacted at around 11am and a subsequent search was launched led by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

“Enquiries are ongoing to confirm the identity of the man.”

His family has been told.
