Man dies after being rescued off Aberdeen beach
The alarm was raised on Tuesday evening near the Esplanade
A man has died after being rescued from the North Sea at Aberdeen beach.
Police, coastguard helicopters and lifeboats were all involved in the search near the Esplanade yesterday evening.
Police Scotland said: "Around 7.15pm on Tuesday, 1 November, police were called to a report of concern for a man at Beach Esplanade, Aberdeen. The 33-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Reports on social media suggest the man may have gone into the North Sea to try and save his dog.
