Man, 61, dies in Aberdeen house fire

A 61-year-old man has died in a house fire in Aberdeen last Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to Middlefield Crescent at around 7.10am on 6 June and the fire was extinguished.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been informed.

An investigation remains ongoing between officers and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.10am on Thursday, 6 June, 2024, we were called to a fire at a property in Middlefield Crescent, Aberdeen.

"Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“A 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family is aware.

"A joint investigation ongoing is between Police and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“Officers remain at the scene.”
