The 28-year-old was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the incident on Union Street at around 5:30am on Saturday morning.
Police Scotland are making enquiries into an assault that has resulted in the serious injury of a 28 year old man, which happened on Union Street, Aberdeen about 5.30am on Saturday 26 November 2016.
Police Scotland are making enquiries into the assault, and it's believed two men were responsible.
The first male is described as 6ft tall, heavy build, dark hair, wearing a grey t-shirt and dark denim jeans. The second male is described as 5ft 9ins tall, short grey hair, wearing a brown bomber style jacket and dark blue jeans.
Detective Inspector Norman Stevenson said: "Whilst this happened in the early hours of the morning, I would appeal to anyone who saw it happen or any part of it, to come forward and tell us what they saw".
