Man charged over spate of vehicle break-ins in Aberdeen

A 33-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with the crimes

Following an investigation into a spate of break-ins to vehicles in Aberdeen, officers have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in connection with the crimes.

The offences occurred in the west end area of Aberdeen, between Thursday, 4 July, and Thursday, 25 Jul, with several vehicles being broken into and items stolen from them.

The man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday, 1 August, 2024.

Detective Constable Mathew McKay said: “We’re aware of the impact this type of crime can have on people, and I would like to reassure everyone that we will respond to offences of car crime to ensure our communities stay safe.

“We also urge motorists to be vigilant, keep their vehicles securely locked and avoid leaving valuables inside.”
