A man has been charged following a fire at Aberdeen Sheriff Court last week
A man has been charged following a fire at Aberdeen Sheriff Court last week.
A blaze broke out in the basement of the building at around 4pm on Friday.
Dozens of staff and members of the public had to be evacuated, and one of the Sheriffs was taken off the bench, when the fire alarms were activated.
Three fire engines rushed to the scene, and firefighters tackled the blaze wearing breathing apparatus.
The building was declared safe at around 4:30pm - and staff and the public were allowed back into the building.
Today police confirmed that a 31-year-old man has been charged in connection - and he will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service has also launched an investigation.
