Man charged after assault reported at Huntly Football Social Club

The 39 year old will appear in court at a later date

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged assault following an incident at Huntly Football Social Club in the early hours of Sunday September 3rd, 2017.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal detailing the circumstances and the 39 year-old is expected to appear in court at a later date.

PC Tom Hope, who investigated the incident, said: "I would like to thank those individuals who assisted with our enquiries. This investigation was greatly aided by the excellent CCTV at Huntly Football Club and the cooperation of the staff.

"Our enquiries are continuing into this incident and anyone with further information they think could help is requested to contact Huntly Police Office or call 101."

He added: "Violence of any kind within our community will not be tolerated and will be vigorously investigated. Officers carry out regular checks on licenced premises in order to provide a visible presence and deter such incidents from happening in the first place.

"We will continue to carry out directed patrols and any incidents will be dealt with robustly including potentially banning individuals from entering licensed premises."
