A man has been charged in connection with an alleged break-in and theft at a comedy club in Aberdeen.

The 37-year-old is accused of targeting Breakneck Comedy at King Street in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Someone had forced there way in to the building, making off with small quantity of alcohol taken.

City-centre Sergeant Dougie Mackay said: " I would like to thank the member of public who alerted Police to suspicious activity in the area, which allowed officers to take quick action."

He added: "I would encourage people to continue letting us know as and when they see unusual people, vehicles or activity where they live, so that we can target our resources to the right places at the right times. Acquisitive crime of any kind will not be tolerated.
