Man Charged With Abusing Three Dogs In Aberdeen

Published 8th Sep 2015

A man has been charged with letting three dogs become so malnourished and stressed that they had to be put down.

Ivor Duncan allegedly failed to provide the dogs with enough food or exercise over a two month period at a property in Aberdeen.

The animals were claimed to have been unable to run around in open spaces or socialise with other dogs or humans at the flat on Great Northern Road.

Duncan, allegedly let all of the dogs become malnourished to the extent that one became emaciated.

They were said to have been suffering from "extreme" stress and had developed behavioural difficulties to the extent that they had to be put to sleep.

The 32-year-old faces a further charge of failing to ensure that the needs of the animals were met.

The charge states that the dogs were undernourished and had been chewing on empty cans and other items.

Duncan faces two charges under the Animal Health and Welfare Scotland Act 2005.

The two offences were claimed to have happened between July 1 and September 1 last year.

He previously denied the offences during a court appearance in April this year.

He was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court again today but failed to show up and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
