Man asked to come forward in assault investigation

Police Scotland is investigating an assault on a 26-year-old man in Aberdeen City Centre.

Police Scotland is investigating an assault on a 26-year-old man in Aberdeen City Centre.

The incident occurred at around 1:30am on Monday 13 June 2016 in the Bath Street area.

Officers believe that man shown in the CCTV image may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

He is described as being in his mid 20's, 6 feet tall, of heavy build and with medium length ginger hair.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light blue polo shirt and jeans.

Investigating Officer Constable Stuart Hache said: "This was an unprovoked attack resulting in the male sustaining a serious injury to his mouth.

"Assaults of this nature have a significant impact on the life of the victim.

"I would appeal to anyone who recognises the male pictured or has any knowledge of this incident to come forward and contact the Police."
