A man’s been charged after thousands of pounds worth of valuables – including World War 2 medals – were stolen from a home in Aberdeen’s Seafield area.

It happened between the 21st and 22nd June – a full dress kilt was also one of the items stolen.

The 38 year old’s also accused of breaking into homes in the West End of the city last month.

Detective Sergeant Andy Machray said: "We would like to thank members of the public who assisted with these enquiries.

"While some of the property has been recovered we would ask anyone who has concerns about items they are offered for sale to contact police on 101."

The man accused is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday 11th July.
