An arrest has been made over the alleged murder of a Lithuanian man in Peterhead.
An arrest has been made over the alleged murder of a Lithuanian man in Peterhead.
Police were called to a property in King Street in the Aberdeenshire town at about 8am yesterday and found a body.
The man is thought to be Lithuanian but officers said a formal identification has not yet taken place.
A murder investigation was launched and a 44-year-old man was arrested today.
He is due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Detective inspector Brian Geddes said: Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full facts of what has happened but we would appeal to anyone, and particularly those within the Lithuanian community in Peterhead, who may have information relating to the death to make contact with us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.''
