Man appears in court on murder charge over Peterhead death

Malcolm Wright died on 1st February, 6 days after he was found injured in the North East town

A man's appeared in court in connection with the death of a man who was found injured in Peterhead last month.

Malcolm Wright, 56, died on the 1st of February - 6 days after he was discovered with serious injuries in the town's Peter Buchan Drive on 26th January.

The 56-year-old's family released a statement through police following his death:

"As a family we are devastated by the loss of Malcolm, a much-loved father, brother, son and friend to many. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him."

Gary Crossan appeared in private at Peterhead Sheriff Court charged with murder.

The 30 year old entered no plea or declaration. The case was continued for further examination and he was remanded in custody.

Crossan is expected to appear before the court again within 8 days.
