Aberdeen man sentenced to four years in prison for supplying drugs in the city

A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to four years in prison for supplying Class A and Class B drugs in Aberdeen.
Anthony Newman was found guilty of drug offences last month and was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh today.
He was part of an intelligence-led operation that began in January and lead to police recovering £130,000 pounds worth of cocaine and cannabis.
Detective Inspector Robin Sim said:
“We welcome the conviction and sentencing of Newman for his involvement in the supply of controlled drugs.
“We would like to send a clear message to anyone who is involved in the supply of drugs onto the streets of Scotland that if you expect to profit from other people’s misery then expect to be targeted.”

Detective Sim added: “We will use all resources at our disposal to target those involved in the drugs supply chain, recover illegal substances and disrupt the supply chain.”
